Summary
Join the Brain Injury Association of Michigan for a Competitive Bass Tournament and a day of fishing and family fun! All ages and experience levels welcome. There are a number of ways you can participate in the Fishing Derby & Family Fun Day:
Competitive Bass Tournament (team or individual) + Volunteer: Designed for more serious or professional bass fishers who are interested in competing for prizes. This derby begins bright and early at 6:30 a.m. and ends with an awards ceremony at 11:00 a.m. We invite everyone to join us for the rest of the day, have lunch, and help assist brain injury survivors and veterans who would like to go out on the lake and/or may need some assistance fishing.
Competitive Bass Tournament (team or individual): Designed for more serious or professional bass fishers who are interested in competing for prizes. This derby begins bright and early at 6:30 a.m. and ends with an awards ceremony at 11:00 a.m.
Non-Competitive Fishing Derby: This is perfect for brain injury survivors people with other disabilities, veterans, and their family members who are really just interested in having a fun time fishing and spending time outdoors.
Family Fun Day Registration: Little or no interest in fishing but still want to socialize and enjoy the great outdoors? This is for you!

Please join us for the inaugural Brain Injury Association of Michigan Bass Tournament. This tournament is great opportunity to compete for trophies and prizes, and help raise money for a great cause. Registration is now open! Sign up today and save. Advanced registration is $50.00 (team or individual). Registration the morning of the tournament is allowed, but increases to $75. Any registrations received prior to July 19th will be entered into a drawing for Boat Number 1 in the blast off order. A weigh-in and award ceremony will take place immediately following the tournament.
Standard tournament rules apply:
• Five fish limit (largemouth and smallmouth only)
• All state fishing rules and regulations apply
• Life jackets must be worn anytime the outboard is running
• Kent Lakes 10 MPH speed limit must be followed at all time
• Lures and artificial bait only. No live bait permitted
• Trolling is not allowed
• You cannot cull a dead fish
• Dead fish result in a 1 pound penalty
• You must check in by the designated time. There is a 1 pound penalty for every minute you are late.
